Vus'umuzi Phakathi won the 5th SABC Crown Gospel Music Award for his album "Testament of The Poet," following his debut studio project "Abandoned Archive of Romeo The Poet. A master collaborator, Phakathi curated the first ever SADC poetry love tape with poets from all Southern African countries and recently released "Break Breathe With Me," a SoundCloud mixtape of his love poetry recited by other poets.
Makhafula Vilakazi, who is known for seminal projects like I'm Not Going Back To The Township and Concerning Blacks, announced on Facebook that he is going back to the studio to begin work on a new album. The New Age People's Poet is featured on Mlindo the Vocalist's latest single, Isandla sika Baba.
Kush Mahleka opens Amanda Black's "Power" album and is featured on Speeka's latest album "Organized Grime 2." She has also collaborated with Mobi Dixon and Zolani Mahola.
